it's hard to tell, and may even be a combination. It is very frustrating.ĭon't feel lonely. It just keeps stalling in preparing backup.Īny help would be GREATLY appreciated. That why I am confused as to the root of this issue. However I'm confused as to why my wife's MBP will backup with no problems and mine will not. I know that Apple doesn't support wireless backups with the AEBS. I am able to do a time machine backup when the HD is connected directly to the Macbook. When I did try to change disk in time machine preferences, it asked me for a password each time. Wireless backups did work for a while (maybe 2 weeks) and then for some reason stopped. None of these have had any positive results. I have tried removing the USB splitter and plugging in the HD directly to the AEBS, connecting via ethernet to the AEBS, tried to 'change disk' in time machine preferences, and running disk repair on the HD and the sparsebundle when it is connected directly to my macbook via USB. When I try to backup, Time Machine stalls in the 'preparing backup' stage. Her Macbook Pro works fine doing wireless backups to her partition of the hard drive.
The external HD is partitioned into two partitions which my wife and I use for time machine backups. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post as I'm confused if this is a time machine, airport extreme, or macbook issue.ĪEBS - USB splitter, with two printers and a LaCie 1TB external HD
